ENDURANCE Screening on Orcas Island

Join us on Orcas Island for a special screening of ENDURANCE, followed by a Q&A with producer and Explorers Club fellow Ruth Johnston.

Sunday, May 3, 2:00 PM (doors open at 1:15 PM)
Sea View Theatre, Orcas Island: 234 A St, Eastsound, WA 98245

In one of the most legendary feats of leadership and perseverance in exploration history, Sir Ernest Shackleton kept his crew of 27 men alive for more than a year after their ship was lost in the Antarctic pack ice. More than a century later, a team of modern-day explorers sets out to locate the sunken vessel. From National Geographic Documentary Films, ENDURANCE is directed by Chai Vasarhelyi, Jimmy Chin, and Natalie Hewit, and produced by Explorers’ Club Fellow Ruth Johnston. The film brings together the stories of these two landmark expeditions, united by extraordinary grit, endurance, and determination.

Following the screening, attendees are invited to stay for a Q&A with Ruth Johnston.

All proceeds from the evening will be generously donated to the West Sound Community Club. After the event, guests are welcome to continue the evening at the Lower Tavern (21+) for live music, and Endurance-themed food and drinks.
